Talaya Health Resort Reopens After Massive 6 Billion Ruble Transformation
The Talaya health resort officially reopened on 12 June 2023 after undergoing a complete renovation. Local dignitaries, including Sergei Smirnov and Petr Burmistrov, attended the ceremony to mark the occasion. The resort has been transformed from a simple sanatorium into a modern balneological destination. The renovation was made possible through a public-private partnership, with Alexander Basanasky serving as the primary investor. His total contribution surpassed 6 billion rubles, including over 1 billion rubles spent on advanced medical equipment.
The resort now boasts four accommodation buildings, an open-air thermal pool, a year-round ice rink, a tennis court, and an agricultural complex. It can host up to 320 guests, with a dedicated children’s wing offering 85 beds.
During the reopening, Sergei Smirnov stressed the importance of the resort for local residents. Governor Sergei Nosov also spoke, underscoring its social value for the region. Petr Burmistrov noted the facility’s role in improving public health in Magadan. The revived Talaya resort now stands as a major health and leisure hub for the area. Its modern facilities and expanded capacity aim to benefit both visitors and the local community. The project reflects a significant investment in regional infrastructure and wellbeing.
