Pampanga Governor Pineda delivers aid to 3,399 cancer patients in relief drive

Governor Lilia 'Nanay' Pineda led an aid distribution event for cancer patients in Pampanga. The activity took place at Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center. A total of 3,399 individuals from the province’s 1st, 3rd, and 4th districts received support. Each beneficiary was given P4,000 from the DSWD. The provincial government also provided 25 kilograms of rice and maintenance medicines to help with daily needs.

During the event, Governor Pineda informed attendees about PhilHealth’s YAKAP Program. This initiative aims to expand assistance for patients needing long-term medical care. Loreta Quiambao of Mabalacat City accepted aid on behalf of her sister, who is currently undergoing chemotherapy for ovarian cancer. Quiambao shared that the funds will go towards medicines and other essential treatments. The support is expected to ease some financial burdens for the recipients. The combined cash, food, and medical supplies offer practical relief to those battling serious illnesses. The event highlighted ongoing efforts to assist vulnerable residents in Pampanga.
