72-Year-Old Survives Heart Attack After Collapsing Near Vladivostok Hospital

A 72-year-old man from Primorye Territory survived a heart attack after collapsing near Vladivostok Clinical Hospital No. 1. Quick action by paramedics and hospital staff saved his life following a sudden cardiac arrest. The incident began when the man experienced severe chest pain that spread to his left arm. Paramedics arrived and recorded an electrocardiogram, confirming an acute myocardial infarction.

While transporting him to the hospital, the patient’s heart stopped just metres from the entrance. The ambulance crew immediately performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation and restored his heartbeat. During the journey, they also administered thrombolytic therapy to dissolve the blood clot.

At Vladivostok Clinical Hospital No. 1, doctors carried out emergency coronary artery stenting to clear the blockage. The procedure stabilised his condition, allowing for further recovery. The man has since been discharged from the hospital and is continuing his recovery at home. His survival followed rapid medical intervention, including resuscitation, clot-busting drugs, and emergency stenting.
