Magadan boosts healthcare funding with a 2026 budget overhaul
The Magadan Regional Duma has approved a larger budget for the Magadan Regional Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund for 2026. The decision aims to strengthen healthcare financing in the region. Officials expect the changes to stabilise support for local medical institutions. The Fund’s revenue will rise by 21.5 million rubles, reaching 11.3 billion rubles. Expenditures have also climbed by 544 million rubles, totalling 11.8 billion rubles. A projected deficit of 522.6 million rubles will be covered using leftover funds from 2025.
The normalized insurance reserve has grown by 59.2 million rubles. This increase ensures the budget remains secure and easier to manage. The extra money will help finance medical institutions more reliably. The additional funding will make diagnostics faster and treatment more accessible for residents, including those outside the region. The overall aim is to enhance medical care quality and improve the well-being of people in Kolyma.
