Maharashtra Minister Ganesh Naik Inaugurates MRI, Cath Labs, Dialysis Centres & Milk Bank Under NMMC Health Expansion

Navi Mumbai gets advanced medical upgrades with new MRI, dialysis, and neonatal care

Maharashtra Forest Minister Ganesh Naik inaugurated several advanced medical facilities in Navi Mumbai on Monday. The new additions aim to improve healthcare services across the region. These include specialised centres, support systems for newborns, and upgraded diagnostic tools. At Vashi Public Hospital, Naik opened a 3 Tesla MRI Centre to help detect diseases like cancer and stroke early. A Central Sterile Services Department was also launched there to reduce infection risks and improve patient safety. The hospital now has a Human Milk Bank to support premature and critically ill newborns.

A Hospital Bed Availability Dashboard was introduced by NMMC to provide real-time updates on bed availability. Modular mortuaries and advanced Cath Labs at Vashi and Airoli hospitals were also inaugurated, with foundation work for the labs already underway. These labs will strengthen neurovascular and cardiac treatments.

Additionally, Naik inaugurated a dialysis centre at Swami Vivekananda Bhavan in Vashi and an Urban Primary Health Centre at Mahape. A second dialysis centre at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Bhavan in CBD Belapur and a veterinary hospital at Juinagar were opened virtually. The new facilities will expand healthcare access in Navi Mumbai. Early disease detection, infection control, and specialised treatments are now more available. The online dashboard will help patients find hospital beds faster.
