Pacific State Medical University celebrates 55th cohort of preventive medicine graduates
Pacific State Medical University recently held a graduation ceremony for its 55th cohort of preventive medicine specialists. The event brought together graduates, faculty, and healthcare leaders to mark the completion of their training. PSMU Rector Kirill Stegniy addressed the new specialists, highlighting the importance of their role in public health. The ceremony saw attendance from leaders of Rospotrebnadzor, regional healthcare experts, and PSMU faculty. Graduates were recognised for their expertise in epidemiology, hygiene, toxicology, and healthcare management.
Stegniy began by thanking parents and educators for their support. He stressed that preventive medicine specialists focus on stopping illness before it starts, rather than treating it. Prevention, he noted, is a recurring theme in public discussions and even presidential addresses.
He also reminded the graduates of their duty to speak out against breaches of sanitary standards. Their work, he said, is vital in protecting the health of the public. Before closing, Stegniy assured them that PSMU would always welcome them back for advice or collaboration. The graduates now enter their professional roles with specialised knowledge and a clear mission. Their training equips them to tackle public health challenges and uphold high sanitary standards. The university remains a resource for their future endeavours.
