70-Year-Old Woman Recovers After Emergency Intestinal Tumor Surgery

A 70-year-old woman from Primorsky Territory has recovered after emergency surgery to remove a large intestinal tumour. Doctors at Vladivostok Clinical Hospital No. 4 acted quickly when she arrived with severe abdominal pain and signs of a blockage. The procedure successfully restored her digestive function. The patient was rushed to hospital after suffering from sharp abdominal pain, bloating, and clear signs of intestinal obstruction. Scans revealed a five-centimetre tumour in her cecum, prompting doctors to schedule an urgent operation.

Surgeons removed the affected section of the intestine and reconnected the healthy parts. The operation preserved full digestive function, and no complications arose during recovery. Within days, the woman’s condition began improving noticeably.

Her progress has continued steadily, with pain levels dropping and digestion returning to normal. Medical staff will soon oversee her further rehabilitation to ensure a full recovery.

This follows a similar case earlier at Vladivostok Clinical Hospital No. 2, where a 52-year-old woman underwent surgery for a large tumour after reporting persistent hip pain. Both procedures highlight the hospitals’ capability in handling complex abdominal surgeries. The patient is now recovering well, with her symptoms easing and digestion functioning normally. She will complete her rehabilitation under medical care in the coming weeks. The successful surgery has resolved the obstruction and removed the tumour entirely.
