Mobile medical units in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast have examined over 20,000 residents since early 2026. These Health Train modules, part of the Long and Active Life national project, provide advanced diagnostics and specialist consultations across the region. The initiative aims to improve early disease detection and preventive care. The Long and Active Life project began in 2018 under regional governor Gleb Nikitin. Its mobile units now offer services like ECG, fluorography, bone densitometry, and nine types of ultrasound scans. These labs support local clinics by expanding access to check-ups and screenings.

Outreach teams from the N.A. Semashko Regional Clinical Hospital have delivered more than 31,000 consultations. They have also performed over 70,000 diagnostic tests. Among the most requested services were appointments with cardiologists, endocrinologists, neurologists, ophthalmologists, and ENT specialists.

Following visits, 12,000 patients were referred for further tests, and over 670 required hospitalisation in district centres. The most commonly diagnosed conditions included cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, tumours, and respiratory disorders. Updated schedules for the mobile units are published on the regional Health Ministry’s website. The project’s focus on early detection aligns with its broader health goals. By bringing specialist care directly to communities, the mobile units help reduce delays in treatment. Residents can access updated visit times and locations through the ministry’s official online platform.
