Russian Scientists Develop Breakthrough Treatment for Acute Pancreatitis

Researchers at Novosibirsk State Medical University have created a new treatment for acute pancreatitis. The method is currently under patent review. It aims to improve recovery and reduce hospital stays for patients. The treatment involves a two-step process. First, a painkiller and hyaluronidase are injected into the liver’s round ligament. Then, platelet-rich plasma is administered near the pancreas. This approach helps alleviate pain, improve drug absorption, and support tissue repair.

Patients undergo ultrasound and laboratory tests after five days to assess their condition. If needed, the procedure is repeated. Clinical trials have shown promising results, with fewer complications and shorter hospital stays compared to standard treatments.

In the control group, 60% of patients experienced complications with conventional care. The new technique significantly lowered this rate. It can also be used in hospitals of different levels, increasing accessibility for more patients. The new method has been clinically tested and proven effective in reducing treatment time and complications. The researchers have filed a patent for the innovation. It offers a more efficient way to manage acute pancreatitis in various healthcare settings.
