Major upgrades to healthcare services are underway across the region this year. Several newly reconstructed hospitals and a large polyclinic are set to open, marking a significant expansion of medical infrastructure. The central district hospitals in Panfilov, Kerbulak, and Aksu have been modernised and will begin operations soon. The regional children’s hospital in Taldykorgan is also ready to start serving patients. In the regional capital, a new polyclinic capable of handling 500 patient visits per shift will open its doors.
Under the Modernization of Rural Healthcare project, 59 new medical institutions have been built and 13 have undergone major renovations. This effort has updated 63.8% of the region’s medical infrastructure, with most improvements focused on rural areas. Additionally, 93% of healthcare facilities now have modernised equipment.
The region has also strengthened its workforce. Over 8,000 medical workers are currently employed in the system. In the past year, 151 specialists received residency training grants, and 43 newly qualified residents have joined hospital staff. To address shortages, 153 young specialists have been attracted to the region with relocation bonuses and service housing between 2024 and 2025.
Last year alone, 29 new ambulances and 165 units of advanced medical equipment were acquired. Since the region’s establishment, a total of 149 new healthcare facilities have been commissioned. The new hospitals, polyclinic, and upgraded infrastructure will expand access to healthcare. The region’s investment in equipment, staff, and facilities aims to improve medical services for residents. These changes reflect a broad effort to modernise and strengthen the healthcare system.
