Kazakhstan's Top Cardiology Institute Earns Elite Hypertension Accreditation
The National Research Institute of Cardiology and Internal Diseases (NRI CVD) in Kazakhstan has been named a Hypertension Excellence Centre by the European Society of Hypertension (ESH). This recognition highlights the institute’s commitment to meeting the highest international standards in diagnosing, treating, and preventing cardiovascular diseases. The European Society of Hypertension is a leading global organisation dedicated to hypertension and cardiovascular disease control. It sets clinical guidelines, develops educational programmes, and drives scientific research in the field. The ESH also runs the Hypertension Excellence Centre programme, which aims to create a network of top clinical and research institutions in hypertension management.
The NRI CVD earned its status after a thorough evaluation process. The achievement came through collaboration between the ESH and Kazakhstan’s Society of Hypertension Specialists and Cardiovascular Prevention. The Excellence Centre designation remains valid until 2031.
With this recognition, the NRI CVD plans to expand its clinical, research, and educational work in cardiovascular health. The institute will continue to align its practices with ESH standards and participate in its programmes. The new status strengthens Kazakhstan’s position in the global cardiology community. It also increases the country’s involvement in ESH initiatives. The designation confirms the NRI CVD’s role as a key centre for hypertension and cardiovascular care in the region.
