A man from Leningradsky District has been accused of murdering his wife and desecrating her body. The local investigative department has now finished its inquiry into the case. Officials have sent the case file to court for further action. On 11 April, the suspect allegedly killed his wife by repeatedly striking her in the head with a kitchen frying pan. Following the incident, authorities launched an investigation under the Leningradsky Interdistrict Investigative Department.
A court-ordered psychological and psychiatric evaluation was carried out on the suspect. The assessment confirmed he has a chronic mental disorder, specifically organic delusional disorder. This condition is said to affect his ability to understand and control his actions.
Prosecutors have since submitted a motion to subject the man to compulsory medical measures. A court date has been set to determine whether he will undergo mandatory treatment. The case will now proceed to court, where a judge will decide on the necessity of compulsory medical treatment. The suspect’s mental health diagnosis will play a central role in the proceedings. The investigation’s findings have already been forwarded for review.
