Infertility affects one in six or seven couples in Russia. A diagnosis is confirmed after 12 months of regular unprotected intercourse without conception, or after six months for women over 35. Male factors contribute to 50–60% of cases, while female factors account for 40–50%, with combined infertility seen in 20–30% of couples. From April 20–21, 2026, Anastasia Denisovna Alekseeva, a reproductive specialist from EmbryLife Reproduction Center in St. Petersburg, held free in-person consultations in Magadan. A total of 27 women attended these sessions.
Following the consultations, 17 women from the Kolyma region were approved for IVF treatment under Russia’s mandatory health insurance programme. They will travel to St. Petersburg for the procedure. Five more women were advised to undergo additional examinations or surgical treatment in Magadan. Another five sought advice on frozen embryo transfer.
