Sieglar Gymnastics Club Upgrades Life-Saving Defibrillator After Crowdfunding Success
Sieglar Gymnastics Club 1897 e.V. has secured a new defibrillator after a successful crowdfunding campaign. The effort, which ran from May to July 2025, raised €1,025 to replace an outdated device. Club officials stressed the urgent need for the upgrade, as the old unit's battery could no longer be replaced. The campaign gained support from both club members and local donors. VR Bank Bonn Rhein-Sieg contributed an additional €330 in co-funding, bringing the total amount raised to €1,355. The bank acknowledged the dedication of everyone involved in the initiative.
The new defibrillator will serve the club's cardiac rehabilitation group, which supports people with heart conditions. Bettina Hofmann, a representative of Sieglar Gymnastics Club, explained that the old device had become unreliable. With the new equipment now in place, the group is better prepared to respond in emergencies.
The defibrillator is now operational and ready for use in life-threatening situations. The club's cardiac group can continue its work with greater safety measures. The crowdfunding effort and bank contribution ensured the project's success.
