Russian Circus Star Ekaterina Zapashnaya in ICU After Mysterious Allergic Shock
Russian circus performer Ekaterina Zapashnaya was rushed to intensive care after suffering a severe allergic reaction. The incident happened shortly after she attended her brother’s show in Crimea. Doctors have yet to determine the exact cause of her condition. Zapashnaya first noticed a small mark on her skin, which she dismissed as a mosquito bite. Within hours, her body broke out in red rashes, and her arms and legs swelled dramatically. The swelling became so extreme that medics struggled to insert an IV, succeeding only on the ninth attempt.
She was quickly moved to intensive care, where doctors began hormone therapy. When her condition worsened, they performed plasma filtration to stabilise her. Despite these efforts, the source of the allergic reaction remains unclear. Zapashnaya’s health has since shown slight improvement. Medical teams continue to monitor her closely while investigating the trigger behind the reaction. Her recovery progress will depend on further treatment and observations.
