New Charlotte fertility clinic opens as IVF demand surges nationwide

A new fertility treatment clinic has opened in Charlotte as demand for assisted reproduction continues to rise. Kindbody, a well-known chain specialising in IVF and related services, has expanded to the city to meet growing needs. The move comes amid a broader trend of older women achieving pregnancies at higher rates than teenagers, thanks to advances in fertility technology.

In vitro fertilisation (IVF) involves retrieving mature eggs, fertilising them in a lab, and transferring the resulting embryos into the uterus. The procedure has become increasingly common, with nearly 100,000 babies born through IVF in 2023—around 2% of all U.S. births that year. A 2024 UC Berkeley report found that fertility treatment chains like Kindbody have helped boost birth rates by 14%.

The success rates of IVF vary by age and clinic. In the U.S., a single embryo transfer now has a 70% chance of leading to pregnancy. Meanwhile, German data from the Deutsches IVF Register shows lower averages: about 30% success for 30-year-old women and 14% for those aged 40. The CDC also mandates that U.S. clinics report their outcomes online, allowing patients to compare performance.

Across the country, roughly 500 clinics currently offer assisted reproductive technology. Many, like Kindbody, are expanding to keep up with demand. For couples such as Sherell and Tristan Wilson, who have faced repeated fertility struggles, these services provide renewed hope. The pair are now preparing for another IVF cycle in their journey to conceive.

The opening of Kindbody's Charlotte location reflects the growing reliance on fertility treatments. With success rates improving and more clinics emerging, access to IVF continues to widen. For many, these advancements offer a clearer path to parenthood than ever before.
