Mobile Clinics Bring Life-Changing Healthcare to Remote Ural Children in 2025
In 2025, medical teams from Sverdlovsk Regional Children's Clinical Hospital traveled across the Ural region to provide essential healthcare. Their visits covered remote areas, ensuring children in hard-to-reach municipalities received specialist care. Over 51,000 young patients were examined during these trips alone.
The hospital's mobile units included paediatricians, surgeons, and diagnosticians. They visited districts such as Artemovsky, Kamensky, Ivdel, and Severouralsk, offering on-site consultations and support. Local doctors in Artemovsky identified more than 1,500 new cases of chronic non-communicable diseases during these check-ups.
Specialists from Yekaterinburg worked alongside local physicians to refine treatment plans and improve patient care strategies. The initiative aligns with Russia's Decade of Childhood programme, which aims to expand medical access for young residents. It also supports broader national projects like Long and Active Life and Family, both prioritised by the regional Health Ministry. In total, the hospital's teams made 62 trips throughout the year. Their efforts focused on early detection and prevention, helping to address health issues before they became severe.
The programme's reach extended to thousands of children, including those in isolated communities. By bringing specialists directly to municipalities, the regional health system strengthened preventive care and chronic disease management. These measures form part of ongoing efforts to improve healthcare access across the Ural region.
