Miracle Baby Weighing 460 Grams Finally Heads Home After Months in NICU
A baby girl born weighing just 460 grams has been discharged from the Primorsky Krai Perinatal Center after months of intensive care. Yekaterina, now healthy enough to leave the hospital, has returned home to Kamchatka with her parents. Yekaterina’s journey began when her parents travelled from Kamchatka to Primorsky Krai for specialised medical treatment. Her survival required the efforts of over 50 healthcare professionals, who worked tirelessly to stabilise and nurture her.
The medical team was led by Tatiana Kurlyeva, the center’s chief physician and Primorsky Krai’s head obstetrician-gynecologist. Under her supervision, Yekaterina received round-the-clock care until she was strong enough for discharge. After months of treatment, the infant was finally cleared to leave the hospital. Her parents, who had remained by her side throughout, took her back to their home in Kamchatka.
Yekaterina’s discharge marks the end of a long and challenging medical effort. The coordinated work of doctors and specialists ensured her survival and safe return home. She will continue to be monitored as she grows.
