Sabah reported the highest number of cases, with 614 detected. Selangor followed with 476, while Sarawak saw 257 infections. Johor registered 233 cases, and Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya combined had 202.
Penang reported 148 cases, slightly ahead of Kedah's 144 and Perak's 127. In contrast, Negeri Sembilan had 58, Melaka 42, and Perlis 17. Labuan recorded the fewest, with 16 cases. Other states included Kelantan (96), Pahang (81), and Terengganu (60).
Up to Epidemiological Week 5 in 2026, an additional 503 new TB cases were identified nationwide. The MOH has called on the public to wear masks in crowded places and practise proper cough and sneeze etiquette. Those experiencing persistent cough, fever, unexplained weight loss, or loss of appetite are advised to seek screening at the nearest health facility.
The total number of TB cases now stands at 2,571. Health officials continue to monitor the situation closely. Early detection and preventive measures remain key to controlling the spread of the disease.
