Lünen Launches Free Legal and Healthcare Consultation Hours in 2026

The City of Lünen is introducing regular open consultation hours for legal and healthcare planning. Starting April 2026, the Adult Guardianship Office will offer free advice at City Hall on issues like power of attorney and guardianship. Residents can drop in without an appointment on Tuesdays and Fridays between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.

The new service aims to help Lünen's 86,163 residents navigate legal and medical decisions. Sessions will cover topics such as power of attorney, legal guardianship, advance care directives, and voluntary guardianship. However, living wills (advance healthcare directives) cannot be certified during these hours.

For those needing to certify a power of attorney, the process can be completed on site for a €10 fee. The person granting the power must attend in person and bring a valid ID. The office advises anyone with questions about advance healthcare directives to consult their GP instead. Consultations will take place in City Hall, Room 30, on the ground floor. No prior booking is required, making it easier for residents to access support when needed.

The initiative provides a straightforward way for Lünen residents to handle important legal and healthcare matters. With no appointment needed and a small fee for certification, the service offers both convenience and affordability. The first sessions will begin in April 2026.
