According to the same source, after a positive test for Legionella bacteria in cooling tower no. 4 at the TagusPark data center, "technical assessment procedures were immediately initiated," and an analysis of the cooling infrastructure is now underway to identify potentially affected areas.

The Directorate-General for Health (DGS) was notified, and, as a source from the Ministry of Internal Administration (MAI) confirmed, "an on-site inspection is currently being carried out by a team of experts," after which a report will determine the necessary measures to be taken.

For now, there has been no need to evacuate the building or mandate the use of personal protective equipment. Instead, "corrective actions have been implemented," including reinforced treatment with specialized anti-Legionella chemical agents, the source added.

The facilities where the bacteria were detected house the Agency for Integration, Migration, and Asylum (AIMA), the National Road Safety Authority (ANSR), and the data center for the National Internal Security Network (RNSS).
