Heidelberg University's Univitality Health Week Puts Heart Health in Focus
Heidelberg University will host its annual Univitality Health Week from 29th September to 2nd October 2025. The event, organised by University Health Management, focuses on cardiovascular health with a mix of expert talks, fitness sessions, and health screenings for students and staff alike. The week kicks off on 29th September with an online lunchtalk by Janik Meyer, covering the Foundations of Heart Health at 11:30 AM. The following day, Prof. Dr. Simon Steib will present Exercise as Medicine at the same time, while nutrition expert Rebecca Steiner will share advice on Nutrition for Heart and Circulation on 1st October. The programme closes on 2nd October with Mona Henz discussing Heart's Ease Through Relaxation.
Daily activities include cardiovascular health screenings from 8 AM to 5 PM at three university locations. CPR training sessions will also run each day between 12:30 PM and 2:30 PM at the Zeughaus-Mensa in the Marstall. For physical activity, participants can join Pilates, full-body workouts, rope skipping, or moderate guided walks. Beginner-friendly running courses are available as well. All sessions are open to Heidelberg University students and employees, with no prior registration required for most events.
The Univitality Health Week offers a mix of education, exercise, and practical health checks. Screenings, CPR training, and expert-led talks aim to promote long-term heart health among the university community. The full schedule and locations are available on the University Health Management website.
