Fuchs Foodservice recalls spice products over hidden allergen risks in Germany
Fuchs Foodservice GmbH has issued a recall for two spice products due to incorrect allergen labelling. The affected items, sold in major supermarkets across Germany, may pose risks to people with mustard or celery allergies. Customers are advised to check their purchases immediately.
The recall covers two specific batches: Wild Spice Blend (batch 501380, expiry June 2029) and Barbecue Grill Spice Preparation (batch 335100, expiry April 2028). Both products were distributed nationwide through retailers including Rewe, Edeka, and Kaufland. The issue stems from missing allergen declarations—mustard and celery were not listed on the Barbecue Grill Spice Preparation, while celery was omitted from the Wild Spice Blend label.
Consumers who have purchased these items can return them for a full refund, even without a receipt. For further assistance, the company's customer service is available Monday to Friday, 9 am to 3 pm, via phone at 05421/309 250 or email at [email protected].
The recall aims to prevent allergic reactions among sensitive individuals. Shoppers with mustard or celery allergies should avoid consuming the affected batches. Fuchs Foodservice has not reported any incidents linked to the mislabelled products so far.
