Free Webinar Simplifies Heart Health Planning for Future Donors

The American Heart Association is hosting a free webinar on February 26 to explain the basics of heart health planning. The session will focus on revocable living trusts and charitable remainder unitrusts, offering clear guidance for donors of all ages. Experts in wealth management, estate law, and trust administration will lead the discussion.

The one-hour event aims to simplify heart health planning using straightforward language and real-world examples. Participants will learn how trusts are set up, managed, and governed, including the differences between simple and complex structures. The webinar also highlights how planned giving can support the association's long-term goals.

Research funded by the American Heart Association has led to major medical breakthroughs. Since 1949, over $6 billion has been invested in cardiovascular studies, resulting in advancements like CPR techniques in the 1960s, statin drugs in the 1990s, and modern defibrillator and stroke treatments. These innovations have helped cut US heart health death rates significantly.

Legacy gifts play a crucial role in sustaining the organisation's work as the top non-governmental funder of heart research. Donors who include the association in their estate plans join the Paul Dudley White Legacy Circle within the Cor Vitae Society. The webinar serves as an introduction for those wanting to align their financial planning with the association's 2028 Impact Goal.

While over 80% of Americans see heart health planning as important, fewer than one in three have a will or trust in place. This webinar provides an opportunity to explore how charitable trusts can create lasting impact. Registration remains open for the February 26 session.
