Free Geisa course trains residents in neighbourly care this autumn
A free training course on neighbourly assistance will take place in Geisa this autumn. Organised by PflegeForm and the local council, the programme teaches everyday care skills to residents. Those who complete it may qualify for a monthly allowance of €131 from long-term care insurers.
The course is split into two evening sessions, held on October 27 and November 12, 2025. Each part runs from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Anneliese Deschauer Gallery in Geisa. Participants must attend both dates to receive a certificate.
Registration closes on October 17, 2025. Interested residents can sign up by emailing [email protected] or calling +49 36967 69-145. The course requires at least 10 attendees to go ahead but will accept no more than 14. No prior experience is needed, and the training is open to everyone, regardless of their health insurance. The programme builds on earlier local efforts, such as the 2023 *Nachbarschaftshilfe Geisa* initiative, which offered workshops and material support for voluntary carers.
Successful participants will gain recognised qualifications to assist older or vulnerable neighbours. The course also unlocks access to a monthly care relief payment of €131. Organisers aim to strengthen community support networks through practical training.
