Heart Check While Shopping: Tests Aim to Prevent Diseases - Frankfurt Hospital Launches 2026 Health Equity Campaign for Early Disease Detection

Frankfurt University Hospital is rolling out a new health equity campaign in 2026 to promote preventive care across Hesse. The initiative, part of the hospital's Prevention Year programme, will focus on early detection and risk reduction for major health issues. One of the first events will highlight women's cardiovascular health under the theme 'Women's Hearts Beat Differently'.

The campaign kicks off with mobile health insurance screenings at shopping centres, starting at the Main-Taunus-Zentrum. Visitors can receive free ECGs, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol tests at a dedicated information booth. The goal is to identify early signs of heart disease, particularly in women, and provide guidance on prevention.

The event will feature Lena Seegers, director of Frankfurt's Women Heart Health Center, alongside Hesse's Minister of Health, Diana Stolz (CDU). Both will speak on the importance of tailored cardiovascular care for women. The hospital has also partnered with local organisations to expand the programme's reach, covering topics like cancer screenings, obesity, stroke prevention, and vaccinations.

Throughout the year, the Prevention Year initiative will address different health priorities, including colorectal cancer, oral hygiene, and prostate health. Each topic will be supported by public events and expert-led discussions.

The 2026 campaign marks a push to make preventive health more accessible in Hesse. Free screenings and expert advice will be available at key locations, starting with the Main-Taunus-Zentrum. Organisers aim to reduce long-term health risks by encouraging early detection and informed lifestyle choices.
