France's state health insurance subscribers now have access to a centralised online health platform. Called Mon Espace Santé, it brings together medical records, administrative details, and secure communication with doctors. The system replaced the older Dossier Médical Partagé (DMP) and has already seen widespread adoption since its 2022 launch. The platform was introduced in January 2022, automatically creating over 70 million profiles for insurance holders. By December 2025, around 11.4 million health documents had been stored in user accounts, with more than 30% of residents in the Grand Est region actively using the service.
Patients can view their full medical history, including past appointments, hospital stays, prescriptions, surgeries, and X-rays. They can also upload personal documents, share records with healthcare providers, and manage who sees their data. Any files previously stored in the DMP were meant to transfer automatically, though users can add missing documents manually. Access to sensitive information remains tightly controlled to prevent unauthorised leaks. Patients log in via the *Ameli* website, while doctors and medical staff use professional credentials to retrieve records through the DMP system.
The shift to Mon Espace Santé consolidates medical and administrative data in one place. It allows patients to track treatments, communicate with professionals, and control their records securely. As of late 2025, millions of users and documents confirm its growing role in France's healthcare system.
