Dzerzhinsk’s new vascular unit to transform local stroke patient care
Dzerzhinsk is set to enhance stroke care with a new vascular unit at its Emergency Hospital. Currently, patients with severe cerebrovascular disorders are being treated at Hospital No. 39 in Nizhny Novgorod. The move comes as the city works to upgrade its medical facilities and services.
The Dzerzhinsk Emergency Hospital is preparing to launch a specialized vascular unit for stroke patients. While the facility undergoes final renovations, essential medical equipment and furniture are due to arrive soon. Staffing and logistical challenges are also being addressed to ensure smooth operations.
At present, residents with acute cerebrovascular issues are transferred to Hospital No. 39 in Nizhny Novgorod for treatment. Meanwhile, patients with acute coronary syndrome are directed to medical centers in Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod, or the Pavlovsky District, depending on availability and urgency. The new unit aims to reduce reliance on external hospitals by providing local care. However, details about the department’s leadership or an exact opening date remain unclear.
Once operational, the vascular unit will allow Dzerzhinsk to treat stroke patients within the city. This change should ease pressure on nearby hospitals and improve access to urgent care. The facility’s readiness depends on the arrival of equipment and the completion of ongoing upgrades.
