Dhaka University Launches Free Medical Camp for Arts Faculty Staff
A two-day medical camp has opened at Dhaka University, offering free health check-ups to faculty members. Organised by the Faculty of Arts, the event took place at the Shaheed Mofazzal Haider Chowdhury conference room. Support for the camp came from the Popular Diagnostic Centre, ensuring teachers received professional medical attention.
The camp began with free health screenings for teachers from the Faculty of Arts. On the first day, staff from various departments attended for check-ups. Senior university officials, including vice-chancellor Professor Niaz Ahmed Khan, pro-vice chancellor (administration) Professor Saima Haque Bidisha, and treasurer Professor M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, visited the camp at different times.
Faculty dean Professor Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan was present alongside former dean Professor Sadrul Amin. The camp's coordinator, Professor MA Kausar, also attended with other faculty teachers. Their involvement highlighted the university's commitment to staff wellbeing.
The initiative aimed to provide accessible healthcare within the campus. By partnering with the Popular Diagnostic Centre, the Faculty of Arts ensured that teachers could receive thorough medical assessments without cost.
The medical camp ran for two days, focusing on the health of arts faculty staff. University leaders and organisers participated actively, reinforcing the event's importance. Free check-ups were made available, benefiting teachers across the faculty.
