Apple launches groundbreaking health studies on heart, women's and hearing wellness

Apple has launched three major health studies to explore heart health, women’s health, and hearing. The projects involve partnerships with leading medical institutions and global health organisations. Participants in the US can now contribute data through their Apple devices.

The Apple Heart and Movement Study will track heart rate and mobility signals over time. Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the American Heart Association are collaborating on the research. The goal is to uncover links between daily movement, heart health, and long-term well-being.

The **Apple Women’s Health Study** marks the first long-term research effort into menstrual cycles and gynaecological conditions. Working with Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and the NIH’s National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), the study will examine issues like PCOS, infertility, osteoporosis, and menopause. Findings could improve screening and risk assessments for women’s health. For hearing research, Apple has teamed up with the University of Michigan on the **Apple Hearing Study**. This long-term project will analyse how everyday sound exposure affects hearing over time. Data collected will also support the World Health Organization’s **Make Listening Safe** initiative. All three studies are currently open only to US participants.

The studies will gather real-world data through Apple devices to advance medical understanding. Results may influence future health guidelines and screening practices. Participants can contribute by enrolling through the Apple Research app.
